Photos lost = Knowledge Gained

Okay so the verdict is in, nothing and I mean absolutely nothing was left on my computer. Over the past week I had tried not to think about how many photos were lost. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and plugged in my external hard drive to my new computer and last update was June 25. So three months worth . . . then I start thinking what have we done in three months, I knew the moments I wanted back because the day before my computer died I made a list of recent photos to print for scrapbooking. It was sad but the worst part was our first family vacation shots in August were lost. I hadn't saved any of them anywhere I didn't even blog about it because it seemed such a daunting task to go through my hundreds of photos. That was really disappointing. I had to tell someone, so I called Keely to tell her the bad news and she said she remembered reading about a way to recover deleted photos off your camera card. After she found the site, http://www.cardrecovery.com/ I checked it out. Good thing is you can do a trial with them and it will show you what photos it finds, then if you want you can pay them $40 to save the photos on your computer. So it began like magic photos starting August 24 and moved forward, our vacation began August 13. Once it caught back up to yesterday then it moved back to August 2nd and went to the 24th. So overall the program found 3493 photos (I know I have a problem). Basically I lost 1-1/2 months but I had printed photos at the end of July so I probably printed anything that was cute and important or I'm just going to pretend that it's that way. So thanks to the magic photo retrieving program and Keely here's what I might have lost:
Photobucket
My husband looking thoughtful one afternoon at the playground.
Photobucket
Hopefully the only bars we'll see him behind.
Photobucket
Some pretty flowers with an equally pretty girl.
Photobucket
Skillful slip and sliding that needs a tongue to work correctly.
Photobucket
Her first time on a slip and slide.
Photobucket
A sweet boy who still loves his blankey and his thumb.
Photobucket
Crazy 4 year old cousins.
Photobucket
Ethan acting like he was at a frat party in Aunt Keely's little pool.
Photobucket
Caden riding the "big" four wheeler at Grammy and PaPa's house.
Photobucket
More swimming fun.
Photobucket
Staring at Lake Geneva with awe.
Photobucket
Showing proof I was actually on vacation by being IN a photo.
Photobucket
Wading in the water.
Photobucket
Building sandcastles.
Photobucket
Splashing around the lake.
Photobucket
He loves the water.
Photobucket
Mommy swimming in the Lake and Daddy knowing to photograph from far away.
Photobucket
And one of my favorites: Reese's worst bad hair day captured. Actually I almost was sad about losing the worst hair day photos as I was for the vacation photos . . . like I said I have a problem.

OH my gosh! These pictures are so darn cute! I am sitting in class totally laughing outloud! The kids probably think I'm nuts! I'm glad you found a lot of your pictures. I need to update my blog with pictures from the summer, but I'm having a hard time finding a "quick" way to do it? Any suggestions? It seems like it takes forever to upload and then it places them anywhere but where I want it to go!

I'm SO glad that you were able to save some of your pictures! And they are adorable! I guess I learned a valuable lesson with out having to go through what you did. Now I just have to act on that lesson...
